A Rail journey across the Rocky Mountains is some people’s dream.
I have always been a fan of trains because they go places that many roads don’t. Back in the day, the rail routes were set up before cars, roads and planes were options for travel. The Rocky Mountaineer rail routes express this entirely. Rocky Mountaineer excels at bringing both the modern wonder and the historic experience together.
What’s included in my train journey through the Rocky Mountains?
- Onboard Meals, Beverages and Snacks
- Scenery
- Service and Storytelling
- Accommodations and Transfers
- Tours and Sightseeing
- Packages to Suit Your Preferences
Onboard Dining
It may be obvious, but you are on a train and so all of the dining and drinks are inclusive. There are packages to upgrade the dining and drinks experiences, but these are often included with specials.
Scenery
You can’t actually see the Rocky Mountains any other way than by train. You could fly over them, but it is the forests, valleys and bridges that make this trip spectacular.
Adventures
At each stop along the way, you have the opportunity to visit historic towns and locations. Often, the town that your overnight hotel is in can be a fascinating destination in itself. Most destinations have either a historic or a geological appeal.
Overnight Accommodation
There are no sleeper trains on the Rocky Mountaineer trips. Each and every night, your luggage is sent to a luxurious hotel, so that you can dine, socialize and sleep in comfort.
Sightseeing
Each and every day includes either an amazing glide through the unique landscape of the Rocky Mountains or a visit to a landmark or historic town.
Flexibility
All of the journeys, dining, hotels, etc. are yours to choose. You can do just a few days or you might be able to link journeys together and spend more than a week exploring several states.
