A vacation on Long Island might not seem like the obvious choice for a lot of people. If you are looking for beautiful coral reefs and huge sand beaches then this is one of many destinations within the Bahamas. However, Long Island is also a haven for fishing, diving, and boating.

Long Island has world-class bonefishing and visitors often have thrilling encounters with sea life. Inland, the Island also offers Dean’s Blue Hole (at 663 feet deep), the second deepest blue hole in the world, and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, the oldest church in the Bahamas.

Where to stay?

There is only one 3 Star resort on Long Island and it could definitely be considered luxury for a vacation. The Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort is in the North of the island and stretches along a deep sandy beach on the West Coast of the island.
