I have a passion for travel, but not just going places. Personally, I like to go off the beaten track and find the real people, the real food and the real sights to see. I’m the guy that walks out of the front door of my accommodation and walks the opposite way to the other tourists (always with safety in mind).

With regard to food, I would rather go and eat where the locals eat than any Hotel Restaurant. My view of luxury is the ability to explore, not just going to the most expensive restaurant – you can do that anywhere. If you’re in Paris, for example, the best food is often down a side street in a Brasserie full of locals, most of Europe is the same.

When you think about adventure, you can find adventure anywhere. It doesn’t have to mean hiking, it doesn’t necessarily mean getting boots on, it means going to exciting places and fully experiencing where you are. A good example might be Hong Kong – get a tour of the gardens and the bird parks, go to the Horse Racing. When in Cairo, Egypt, walk around, go down inside the pyramids and see the actual tombs. Alternatively, adventure really can be an expedition – Leave your Arctic Cruise Ship in a dinghy (with a team of guides) and go see the Puffins.

No matter how you look at it, that huge vacation, the one that ticks every box and creates those huge memories, is available to you today.
