This policy explains what information Go Big Vacations collects when you visit gobigvacations.com, watch our videos or subscribe to our emails, and what we do with it. We’ve kept it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
Go Big Vacations is a travel inspiration website and video series operated by Opus Strategic LLC, Georgia, USA. We share travel ideas; we don’t sell or book travel. You can reach us about anything in this policy at admin@opusstrategic.com.
What we collect
When you subscribe
If you sign up for our weekly email, we collect the details you type into the form, typically your name and email address. We use them only to send you Go Big Weekly and occasional updates about Go Big Vacations. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Subscriptions are stored on our website and in HubSpot, the email and contact-management service we use. HubSpot processes this information on our behalf; see HubSpot’s privacy policy.
When you just browse
Like every website, our hosting servers automatically record basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted on a rolling basis by our hosting provider.
We don’t currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we add them in future, we’ll update this policy first.
Your wishlist
When you tick places on the wishlist phone, your choices are saved only in your own browser (using its local storage). They are never sent to us, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Videos and YouTube
Our videos are hosted on YouTube. To protect your privacy, the video player on our site is YouTube’s privacy-enhanced version and loads only when you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube may set cookies and collect information under the Google Privacy Policy, and your viewing is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
YouTube API Services
Go Big Vacations uses YouTube API Services to publish our own weekly episodes to the Go Big Vacations YouTube channel (youtube.com/@gobigvacations). We use YouTube API Services only to manage our own channel: uploading our videos and setting their titles, descriptions, thumbnails, playlists and visibility. We do not use YouTube API Services to access, collect, store or share personal information about visitors to this website or viewers of our videos.
Information we access and store. The only Google account that has authorized our use of YouTube API Services is our own channel’s account. We store the authorization for that account securely on our own systems, together with the IDs of the videos we publish. We do not access or store YouTube data about any other user.
Revoking access. Any Google account holder can review and revoke an application’s access to their account at any time through the Google security settings page: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
Deletion of data. When access is revoked, or when stored information is no longer needed, we delete the authorization and any related API data from our systems, and in any case we refresh or delete stored API data within 30 days as required by the YouTube API Services policies.
We also share our episodes on the Go Big Vacations Facebook Page. If you interact with us there, Facebook’s own privacy policy applies. Our site doesn’t use the Facebook pixel or other Facebook tracking.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to other sites, such as tourism boards, travel companies and the original posts behind each episode. We aren’t responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Why we’re allowed to use it
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK, our legal bases are: your consent for our emails (which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing), and our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and working, for server logs.
Sharing and selling
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We only share it with the service providers described above (our hosting provider and HubSpot) so they can run the site and send our emails, or if the law requires it. If Go Big Vacations is ever sold or transferred, subscriber information may be transferred to the new owner, who would have to follow this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscription details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept only for as long as our hosting provider needs them for security and operations.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing admin@opusstrategic.com. Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA) and the European Economic Area or UK (GDPR), you may have further rights, such as data portability or the right to complain to a data protection authority; we’ll honor them.
Our site doesn’t respond to “Do Not Track” signals, because we don’t track you across sites in the first place.
Children
Our site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has subscribed, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website or email service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top. For significant changes affecting subscribers, we’ll tell you by email first.
