Why it’s on the wishlist

A different island for every mood

Hawaiʻi is a chain of volcanic islands in the middle of the Pacific, and each one has its own personality: city and surf on Oʻahu, resorts and road trips on Maui, live volcanoes on Hawaiʻi Island, and waterfalls everywhere on Kauaʻi.

Short inter-island flights make it easy to combine two or three, and a week-long cruise can take you around the main islands without packing and unpacking.

Kauaʻi, the Garden Isle

“To me, Kauaʻi is the most beautiful island. Waterfalls everywhere, fruit and vegetables everywhere, and every morning and evening the best sunrise or sunset you’ve ever seen.” That’s Kevin’s verdict. Waimea Canyon, often called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is the place to start.

Maui

Two islands in one: resort polish in the south and west, rainforest and waterfalls in the north and east, and sunrise above the clouds on Haleakalā. Read Kevin’s Maui story.

Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island

Oʻahu has Honolulu, Waikīkī’s surf and Pearl Harbor. Hawaiʻi Island, the “Big Island”, is where the volcanoes are still building new land.
