Next, Denmark, and Nordby on Fanø Island. It looks like a fairytale hobbit village, with thatched-roof cottages, a massive fifteen kilometre beach, and lazy seals. Lazy seals? My kind of travel buddies.

Then southeastern Morocco, and the Dades Gorges. Canyons stretching two hundred kilometres through rock two hundred million years old, with palm oases, Berber cave villages and rammed-earth kasbahs. Makes my old rock collection look tiny.

Over to South America. Why choose between Machu Picchu and the Galápagos? This one does both in one journey, with an expedition cruise built for deeper wildlife encounters. Ancient ruins in the morning, giant tortoises later. Sorted.

Then the British Virgin Islands, for slow mornings, salty air, and barefoot afternoons. That's it. That's the whole plan. And honestly? I love it.

Down to Patagonia, with Australis Cruises. Remote landscapes, fjords and glaciers at the end of the world. Sometimes all you need is a small hike and a gorgeous view. Small hike, I can do. Big view, even better.
